Salsay Weyane Tigray Calls for Action Amid Escalating Crisis in Tigray

Salsay Weyane Tigray, an opposition political party operating in Tigray, expresses grave concern over Tigray’s deteriorating humanitarian and security situation, attributing it to the Ethiopian government’s failure to uphold the Pretoria Agreement and constitutional obligations.

The crisis is further exacerbated by internal infighting within corrupt TPLF factions and the deliberately weakened interim government, according to the party. Despite repeated calls for inclusive administration from various bodies, including Salsay Weyane Tigray, the TPLF maintains monopolistic control over the regional administration.

The party urges international observers of the agreement to renew their commitment to monitoring the ceasefire agreement, and also calls on the Tigrayan diaspora to intensify peaceful diplomatic efforts to address the ongoing internal and external existential threats that the society of Tigray facing.
